Do you have perpetually tight shoulders, neck, back, hips, or IT band? Do you suffer from piriformis, knee, plantar fasciitis, or TMJ tightness? These one of a kind, 2.5" in diameter rubber balls grip your skin and work into multiple layers of connective tissue. Yoga tune up balls are commonly used by chiropractors and physical therapists to relieve high tension areas, overworked and misused muscles.
In this workshop, you will receive guided instruction on placement of the balls as you move through different exercises using the wall and floor as a foundation. You will leave with an overall sense of calmness and relaxation.
Please bring your own yoga mat to practice on in the studio space. Tune up balls will be provided. No yoga experience required, all levels welcome.
About the instructor:
Monica Valdez is a yoga teacher certified by Purple Yoga in 2011 at the 200-hour level. She is currently attending Loyola Marymount University's prestigious Yoga Therapy RX program. Studying under the guidance of world renowned yoga therapist, Dr. Larry Payne Ph.D as well as some of our country's top orthopedic doctors, chiropractors, and therapists, Monica is working towards her yoga certification at the 500-hour level in yoga therapy.
A mother of four, Monica found yoga after suffering an injury while training for her first of many marathons. She found yoga to be the perfect complement to running and used yoga as cross-training to prevent injuries. Falling in love with yoga, Monica decided to become a certified yoga teacher to help others heal from physical and emotional stress.
