No, not at all! Our Teacher Training program is open to all, regardless of prior yoga experience. It is designed to deepen your knowledge and experience of yoga. This program is for those who wish to teach. It is also for those just looking to gain in-depth knowledge of yoga from experienced and knowledgeable instructors. By the time you graduate from the program, you will be much more experienced.
Do I have to apply to be a part of the program?
No. We only need the $425 non-refundable deposit at the time of registration.
When is the full tuition due?
Full payment is required before the date that Teacher Training begins. Payment plans available.
How do I complete all 200 hours required for certification?
The hours of the scheduled sessions completes the “direct contact” hours. The additional hours to complete the 200-hour requirement are achieved by attending a required number of yoga classes during the weeks of Teacher Training. It also includes observing a certain number of yoga classes. Post-Teacher Training requirements include teaching a required number of classes.
What happens if I miss any of the scheduled sessions?
To satisfy the requirements of the “direct contact” hours with our Teaching Training faculty, you have options. Missed sessions can be made up in one of the following ways.
- After Teacher Training is finished, you can schedule a “private” session with a faculty member. This session will allow you to review the material that was missed. This “private” session will be charged at the current Private Session studio rate. If other students missed the same session and material you may combine together to schedule a shared session at the studio’s shared private session rate; or
- You can sit in for the session(s) you missed. It will be scheduled at the next Teacher Training session at no additional cost.
If I complete Purple Yoga’s Teacher Training program can I become a teacher at Purple Yoga?
Purple Yoga will audition for teaching positions at the time we anticipate adding additional faculty to our teaching staff. We encourage all program graduates who have a desire to begin teaching yoga, to seek out all the teaching opportunities available. Explore those that exist in the communities where you live. These include community centers, health and wellness facilities, gyms and fitness centers, and other yoga studios.
