Join Alex Roberts in Urubamba, Peru for the trip of a lifetime and our first retreat featuring a wonder of the world, Machu Picchu.

About the location
Journey to the magical land of the Incas with us!
Immediately upon stepping foot into the Andes, you will feel the strong pull of the mountains and rivers. The Sacred Valley of the Incas stretches from Ayacucho to Cusco, it is considered the spiritual heart of Peru.
The mountains hold profound wisdom that remains through changing seasons. There is something deeply reassuring when staying in the Andes.
The retreat center is situated deep in majestic mountains views, steps away from a beautiful waterfall and surrounded by gardens of flowers and native herbs.
About WILLKA TIKA
The Quechua name “Willka T’ika” means sacred flower.
Carol Cumes founded Willka T’ika in 1994. Carol writes, “I first visited the Sacred Valley in the ’80s and was so captivated by the powerful healing energy that I continued to return year after year. In 1994, I decided to purchase a barren strip of land where Willka T’ika now stands. As a longtime yoga practitioner, I wanted to create a retreat center synergizing Andean culture and cosmology with yoga philosophy and lifestyle.”

About Your Leader

Alex Roberts
Faculty & Assistant Director of Teaching
With a sports background, my teaching aesthetic is largely rooted in the belief that yoga can be both athletic and therapeutic when practiced with intelligent guidance. As a teacher, I maintain the importance of proper alignment, accuracy of movement, and improved muscular control to reform shape and increase capacity. As a yogi, I also understand that any form of practice should foster improved relationships off the mat– nutritionally, athletically, socially, spiritually, etc..
I firmly believe that a conscious practice refined with clear instruction can allow bodies to evolve and heal at optimum speed and retain their capacity for movement forever. By adapting traditional techniques to modern needs and client goals, together, we will transform your yoga mat into a laboratory for limitless possibility.
