Book a SaunaBook a Cold PlungeWhat is contrast therapy?
Contrast therapy means alternating heat and cold in one visit. You warm up in the sauna, move to the cold plunge for a short dip, then repeat if you like. People use it as a recovery ritual after training, a reset after a long week, or a way to slow down and breathe on purpose.
At Purple Yoga you build your own contrast session from two services we already offer: a traditional sauna session and a cold plunge session. Both are booked online and neither needs a class or membership.
Traditional sauna
Dry heat at 175–190°F in a 20 minute session. Heat is the warm-up half of the pair.
Cold plunge
Cold water at 40–43°F with 30–180 seconds of immersion in a 10 minute appointment. Cold is the reset half.
How to do a contrast session here
Book both sessions
Reserve a sauna session and a cold plunge session online. Choose times close together so you can move from one to the other.
Start with heat
Spend your sauna session in traditional dry heat. Hydrate before you arrive and leave when you feel ready, not when you feel pushed.
Move to the cold
Step into the plunge and focus on slow breathing. Stay for as long as feels controlled, within the 30–180 second range.
Finish and rest
Dry off, drink water and give your body a few minutes before you head out.
Arrive 15–20 minutes early for your first visit so our team can show you the space. New to recovery? Start with one round of each and see how you feel.

Who should check first
Heat and cold both put demands on the body. Leave a session at any time if you feel dizzy or unwell. This page is general information, not medical advice.
