Purple Yoga Retreats: Survey Results

International and local yoga retreats are some of our most sought after and beloved experiences. From the rice paddies of Ubud, Bali to the Cycladic shores of Amorgos Island, we have taken groups to practice yoga in all corners of the world.

We put a lot of time, attention and detail into the planning and execution of our yoga retreats. We do our best to ensure that everything from transportation to activities is as flawless as possible, so that you can just show up, flow and be present in the moment.

Recently, we asked our community for feedback on our yoga retreats through a survey. We wanted to share the results with you, and use this blog post as an opportunity to discuss the ins and outs of our yoga retreats.

Pie chart illustrating responses to a survey question about participation in yoga retreats, displaying percentages for 'Yes', 'No', and 'Not yet'.

The first question asks: have you been on a yoga retreat with us? 41.9% of respondents were yes, 35.5% answered no and 22.6% said “not yet,” so 58.1% of respondents have not been on a retreat with us.

The next question was: if no, why not? Cost was the largest reason, at 27.8%. Timing was the next biggest concern.

We do our best to keep our yoga retreat cost as low as possible, given that this is a luxury experience. Our retreats are held at world-renowned, four and five star eco-resorts. The cost includes all meals, accommodation, travel to and from the airport, wifi and yoga twice a day. Activities, flights and any additional food and beverage are at an extra cost.

Some less obvious things that come along with a retreat—we do all the planning! Your retreat leader, our owner Joe and the retreat center are in regular communication, planning and organizing the experience of your retreat.

Another added bonus is that our retreat leaders are extremely knowledgable about the locations that we visit, as most of them have been there before (and multiple times)! They also handle arrangements with the hotel, so again, all you have to do is show up!

Our next question was a fun one! Which of our yoga retreats interest you? Check all that apply.

Costa Rica, Puerto Vallarta and Topanga Canyon got the most love.

Desired length for a retreat came next, with 5 nights being the winner and 4/7 nights tying for second place.

A list of travel destination suggestions, including Thailand, Hawaii, Alaska, and various European countries, alongside recommendations for local getaways and shared experiences.

Another fun one: any destinations you think should be on our radar? We love this one! Our respondents gave us lots of fun ideas, including Thailand, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Iceland for international and Sedona, Napa or Sonoma for more local spots.

The last question: what is most important to you in a retreat experience?

These answers were our favorites, because you all agree with everything we find important, too! We work hard to make sure that everything from the people to the location is perfect.
